Empties #1

I love when I finish  products because it's means I have actually used up all the products I have invested my money on and it makes room for new purchases! Also I can decide what product is worth repurchasing or not. I wish I could get through  makeup as quickly as skincare and bodycare items though.

I loved using this Elemis Frangipani Monoi Body Oil. I use this after bathing on damp skin and afterwards I am left with silky soft and smooth skin. I love the gorgeous aroma of coconut and frangipani. This oil is so luxurious and it's a real pamper treat. It's moisturizing without being greasy and it sinks into the skin quickly. After application my skin has a gorgeous glow. The oil has to be warmed up first before it will come out of the bottle. So I place the bottle in a bowl of warm water and after a couple minutes or so it melts into a beautiful silky oil. I purchased this in an elemis kit  from John Lewis so I would only repurchase if it was in a set at it works out to be better value.

Elemis Pro-collagen Marine Cream is a cult moisturiser. I've heard that this cream is sold every two minutes around the world! It has a lightweight gel-cream consistency which I though may not hydrate my skin , however I was surprised because it was moisturising enough for my dry skin. I enjoyed using this cream because it made my skin soft and smooth. It absorbed into the skin nicely and isn't greasy.
This moisturiser has a strong scent, which I didn't mind and actually got used to the scent as I used it more and more. I can't vouch for the anti-aging properties but it is a great moisturiser. However I am not going to run out and purchase because this 30ml cream retails at £49.56. So it's crazy expensive and I am glad I got it in the kit otherwise I probably wouldn't have tried it at that insane price.

One of the main reason's I purchased this body conditioner is that it is enriched with argan oil. And I love me some Argan oil! You would use this like a hair conditioner, but for your body. So this is my last step before I come out of the bath. I slather this all over my body and then I rinse off . This product is meant to replace your need of applying body lotion but I still like to use a lotion because I have dry skin. Aside from the argan oil it has some great ingredients like cocoa butter, brazil nut oil, almond oil and shea butter. My skin feels so soft and moisturised afterwards. It has a very strong scent of roses which I don't like but I like the results of it making my skin so soft that I continued to use it. So I won't repurchase this product because at £15.50 it's pricey and the scent is so powerful.

I was so excited to try this L'Occitane Ultra Rich Face Cream. However I was disappointed in this moisturiser because it irritated my skin big time! Although this is for people with dry skin, I think it was too heavy and rich for my skin. This is a very thick cream and it just overloaded my skin. It's also heavily  fragranced .I hate when products don't live up to the hype especially when it's so expensive. I purchased this for £30 so it was a big splurge. I was determined to get my money's worth so my sister and I used it as a hand cream. There is still product left in the tub but we had enough of the scent that we stopped using it. Next time I need a moisturiser, I am going to ask for a sample first. I am not totally put off by the brand though  and I would like to try their Almond Supple Skin Oil because I've heard great things about that product.

What products have you used up recently?

My Mini Essie Collection

Wednesday, 10 April 2013

Behold the biggest Essie collection you will ever see.....not....I've only got 4! Its a crying shame I know! But give me time I'm working on expanding it. Until then I will share the four I have in my collection. I really like Essie polishes, the colour range is amazing and the cute white lid looks so chic and clean. I also love that Essie is available in Boots and Superdrug now but at £7.99 a bottle I don't love the price.

Essie Bahama Mama is a deep plum colour. This was the shade to rock in autumn and winter. This colour looks very chic and sophisticated on the nails. This is my most worn polish. Its my go-to polish whenever I am indecisive about what shade to rock. I also read somewhere that Rosie Fortescue from Made In Chelsea loves this polish also so that's cool to know if you are a fan of her.
So Essie's Mint Candy Apple is a cult favourite amongst nail lovers. Its one of the most raved about nail lacquers on blogs and on YouTube. It's not hard to see why because it's the most gorgeous mint pastel green colour ever! This is my all time favourite nail polish, and its a must-have for spring! It is a cream formula and is opaque in two coats.

Cute As A Button is another pretty colour that screams Spring. The shade is a perfect pinky coral colour and I absolutely adore this shade. I love how vibrant it is and is also a great pedicure colour. It's such a fun spring and summer shade that pops on the nails.
Fiji is another cult favourite and while I love the milky pink shade, the consistency is streaky and its hard to apply. However when you have the application down it looks very chic and understated on the nails. Butter London has a shade in their collection called Teddy Girl which is a similar colour to Fiji which is on my wish-list to pick up soon.

Do you love Essie's nail polishes? Which is your must-have shade?
